International Citizen of the Year
Since 1985, The International Center has honored individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Indiana and the world in the fields of business, culture, education, government, medicine, media, research, sports or community service.
In 2010, The Center presented its 25th International Citizen of the Year Award to Governor of Indiana Mitch Daniels. The evening’s program featured special performances by the Indianapolis Children’s Choir; Dance Kaleidoscope; Indianapolis Minyo Dancers; members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra; and two-time Grammy Award winner and Regional Emmy Award winner Sylvia McNair, a faculty member at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University.
This year, The International Center will honor Tim Solso, Chairman and CEO of Cummins Inc., as its 2011 International Citizen of the Year. For more information about the award, click here or contact Aliya Chaplin at (317) 955-5150, ext. 230, or achaplin@internationalcenter.org.
