INDIANAPOLIS (January 4, 2018) — The International Center has received a $500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. that will enable The Center to continue its mission of informing, convening and connecting public, private and civic global objectives in Indiana.

The grant will support The Center’s general operations in 2018 and nurture its efforts to expand its programs and services. The grant will be awarded in two phases: an initial installment of $300,000 will support The Center right away. The balance of the grant will function as a challenge grant.  It is designed to inspire The Center to raise qualified matching contributions from individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and foundations, and government entities.

“This grant allows The Center to identify and pursue opportunities for further growth and successful community engagement,” said Martin Baier, President and CEO of The International Center. “We look forward to continuing to create and deliver services of value to our community as we strive to elevate our city and state’s global presence.”

Now in its fifth decade, The International Center is committed to engaging Indiana businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and citizens to think and act globally.
