THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP PROGRAM NAMED IN HONOR OF JIM MORRIS

(Indianapolis – May 1, 2020) – The International Center has announced the new James T. Morris Global Leadership Series, Indiana’s first and only program of its kind. Applications to participate in the program, which will begin in August, are available on The Center’s website between May 1 and June 15.   The program is named for Indiana’s own Jim Morris in honor of his decades of global leadership, including his current presidentially appointed role as the U.S. representative on the executive board of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). FOUR NEW MEMBERS JOIN THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(Indianapolis – March 30) – The International Center welcomes four new members to its board of directors: Lee Feinstein, Lori Greene, Sarah Iglehart, and Linda Kaiser. Lee Feinstein is founding dean of the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington. Before assuming this role, he was the U.S. ambassador to Poland from 2009 to 2012. He also served as the national security director to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and as a senior foreign policy advisor to President Barack Obama. Lori Greene serves as vice president of enrollment management at Butler University.

Effective Monday, March 16, The International Center’s offices at One Indiana Square (Regions Bank Tower), 20th floor in downtown Indianapolis will be closed to visitors. MARTIN BAIER TO SPEAK AT THE INDIANA GLOBAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT

(Indianapolis – Feb. 19, 2020) – Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center, will speak at the inaugural Indiana Global Economic Summit, hosted by the State of Indiana and the Indiana Economic Development Association April 26-28 in Indianapolis.   The goal of the summit is to bring together global thought leaders, decision makers and trailblazers. Baier will be among a roster of 34 other presenters including Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and Secretary of Commerce for the state of Indiana, Jim Schellinger. The International Center to honor Dan Coats as the 2020 International Citizen of the Year

  (INDIANAPOLIS – February 5, 2020) – The board of directors of The International Center has chosen Dan Coats, an American statesman and former diplomat, as recipient of the 2020 International Citizen of the Year (ICY) Award, which honors individuals whose work has achieved global impact and elevated Indiana on the world stage. The award will be presented at a dinner and program on Sept. 29 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis. The announcement was made at The International Center’s annual meeting on Feb. 5 at the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts at Butler University.

THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE D’INDIANAPOLIS

(Indianapolis – January 15, 2020) – The International Center entered into a partnership with Alliance Française d’Indianapolis on December 19, 2019.   Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center and honorary consul to France in Indiana, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mario Guerendo, acting president of Alliance Française d’Indianapolis. THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER RECEIVES $500,000 GRANT FROM LILLY ENDOWMENT INC.

(INDIANAPOLIS – January 6, 2020) — The International Center has been awarded a $500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support The Center’s programming and general operations in 2020. The Lilly Endowment grant is given in two phases: a single installment of $300,000 followed by a challenge grant of $200,000. The challenge grant is designed to inspire other donors to support The International Center and will match qualified contributions from businesses, non-profit organizations, foundations and individuals.
