The International Center to honor Dan Coats as the 2020 International Citizen of the Year

  (INDIANAPOLIS – February 5, 2020) – The board of directors of The International Center has chosen Dan Coats, an American statesman and former diplomat, as recipient of the 2020 International Citizen of the Year (ICY) Award, which honors individuals whose work has achieved global impact and elevated Indiana on the world stage. The award will be presented at a dinner and program on Sept. 29 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis. The announcement was made at The International Center’s annual meeting on Feb. 5 at the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts at Butler University.

THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE D’INDIANAPOLIS

(Indianapolis – January 15, 2020) – The International Center entered into a partnership with Alliance Française d’Indianapolis on December 19, 2019.   Martin Baier, president and CEO of The International Center and honorary consul to France in Indiana, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mario Guerendo, acting president of Alliance Française d’Indianapolis. The MOU will allow Alliance Française d’Indianapolis to share office space with The International Center and create support and foster relationships between the organizations.   Alliance Française d’Indianapolis is a not-for-profit organization with 130 chapters across the United States and 138 associations worldwide. THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER RECEIVES $500,000 GRANT FROM LILLY ENDOWMENT INC.

(INDIANAPOLIS – January 6, 2020) — The International Center has been awarded a $500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support The Center’s programming and general operations in 2020. The Lilly Endowment grant is given in two phases: a single installment of $300,000 followed by a challenge grant of $200,000. The challenge grant is designed to inspire other donors to support The International Center and will match qualified contributions from businesses, non-profit organizations, foundations and individuals. INDIANAPOLIS (August 26, 2019) – The International Center is pleased to announce the three finalists for the 2019 Global Impression Award (GIA). Sherri Bucher, Andrea A. Richter-Garry, and George Srour have been selected as the top three nominees for the second annual award, chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominees. Bucher is an associate research professor of pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
