Civic Engagement for Expatriates

Civic Engagement for Expatriates ImageThanks to ongoing support from the Eli Lilly & Company Foundation and a partnership with Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, The International Center is now recruiting expatriates for the Civic Engagement for Expatriates program. An extension of The Center’s suite of international relocation and expatriate services, CEE provides a year-long civic engagement leadership training for expatriate leaders.

The program, now in its third year, is offered at no charge to the expatriated employee or their employer. Our 2018 cohort will commence on March 15th. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their leadership profiles and enrich their experiences as global leaders as they learn to share their talents with the civic community. Individuals with international professional experience, who are able to give a 2+ year commitment to non-profit service are highly encouraged to apply for consideration.

The Program

In this blend of formal and informal engagement experiences, international expatriates will begin their development with a six-month formal educational program delivered by faculty of The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, complemented with opportunities for mentoring and networking with non-profit leaders. The program will culminate with match-making between the participants and civic community organizations, hosted by The International Center.

The Participants

  • International assignees working at global companies or organizations
  • Employees in leadership roles
  • Permanent transferees OR able to give a 2+ year commitment to non-profit board service
