About the Speaker

John McCormick, PhD is Professor of Political Science at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. His areas of interest include European Union politics, comparative politics, and environmental policy. He was educated at University College London and Indiana University, and is the author of multiple books and journal articles, including Comparative Government and Politics (11th edition, 2019) and European Union Politics (3rd edition, 2020), both published by Red Globe Press.

Recognitions include: Outstanding Tenure Track Faculty Award; Teaching Excellence Recognition Award (TERA); IUPUI Faculty Adviser of the Year, Trustees Teaching Award in 2004 and 2017; Jean Monnet Chair in EU Politics (European Commission) , 2010-13, 2014-17; and Fulbright-Schuman Chair in EU-US Relations, College of Europe, Spring 2013.
