Tartini: an Italian from Piran

November 13, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

- $10 – $25

Our Sister City connection for this concert is Piran (current day Slovenia). A historical and stylistic link will be explored from Tartini (Piran’s favorite son) to Leopold Mozart (and thus to W. A. Mozart) and finally to Beethoven. Winds are in the spotlight for Tartini and Mozart, and then strings and piano shine in one of Beethoven’s most celebrated masterworks.

Works:

  • Tartini – Concertino for Clarinet and Piano (Arr. by Gordon Jacob)
  • Mozart – Serenade in C Minor for wind octet
  • Beethoven – Piano Trio in B-Flat Major, “Archduke”
